Taste of the Danforth

Danforth Ave. is Toronto's "Little Greece". Every
year, the 'Taste of the Danforth" street festival
brings thousands of visitors to the area to sample
the local cuisine and enjoy some shows.

This scene has a bunch of kids gathered around a
balloon vendor. The balloons and the vendor's
outlandish costume offer lots of colour - but
everything is muted by the strong backlighting.
The latter is also throwing off some dramatic long
shadows in the foreground.

The cuppola of the church in the background is
evocative of Greece. Although it is silhouetted, it
is not 'black'. In fact, the colour is quite light and
'pinkinsh' closest to the source of light.
